At the Nvidia Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit in Mumbai, Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang shared an inspiring conversation about India’s future in AI, setting the tone for a new intelligence age. 
Ambani, in his signature style, linked Nvidia to India’s cultural roots, stating, “My version of Nvidia is ‘Vidya’, which means knowledge in India. ‘Vidya’ means Saraswati, our Goddess of knowledge.”

This statement brilliantly connected Nvidia’s name with India’s ancient traditions, suggesting that knowledge and prosperity go hand in hand. Jensen Huang responded enthusiastically, “I knew I named my company right!” showing his deep admiration for India’s contribution to the global tech landscape. 
Mr Ambani added about the Indian culture explaining to Jensen stating, “When you actually devote yourself sincerely to the goddess of knowledge, then in our tradition the goddess of prosperity which is Lakshmi, follows.” 
Huang acknowledged India’s important role in AI development, emphasizing that the country is critical to Nvidia’s global strategy. He pointed out that India is set to multiply its computing hardware infrastructure by 20 times by the end of the year.&nbsp; 
“India is very dear to the world’s computer industry… Our job is to help India build and deploy AI, and your job is to take these libraries and your incredible IT capability,” said Huang. 
In their conversation, Huang outlined the evolution of India’s IT industry from a software exporter to becoming a leader in next-gen AI. He coined the term ‘Software 2.0,’ predicting that India will soon be exporting AI to the world.&nbsp; 
Huang also highlighted the challenge of developing AI large language models (LLMs) in a linguistically diverse country like India, stating, “Building Hindi large language models in India… is the hardest LLM to build.” 
Ambani lauded India’s leadership and its young, aspirational population, explaining how AI and digital infrastructure are shaping the country’s future. With India already home to innovation hubs in various fields like space research, pharmaceuticals, and bioenergy, he stresses that the country is fast becoming a center for global innovation.
