<p>Curve Finance warned users about a scam app impersonating its platform and misleading users worldwide. According to a post by Curve Finance on X, Apple is actively working on removing this app from its store.&nbsp;</p>  
<p>In response, fintech engineer and scam identifier Babu, among the first to report the fake app, advised users to verify applications thoroughly before downloading to <a href="https://consumer.ftc.gov/articles/how-recognize-and-avoid-phishing-scams" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">avoid scams</a>. His tweet pointed out that the counterfeit app has climbed the charts, especially in Europe, Latin America, New Zealand, the United States, and Southeast Asia.</p>

<p>The fraudulent app, titled <em>Curve DeFi v3</em>, was created by a developer named Tao Duong Van. Despite being reported, it remains high on Apple’s finance app rankings. This app replicates the real Curve Finance logo and claims to offer services like token swaps, liquidity staking, and other DeFi functionalities.&nbsp;</p>  
<p>It misleadingly advertises a user base of over 30 million, attempting to build a facade of credibility to attract new users. The ease with which scammers can deceive unwary DeFi consumers worries Curve financial, a respected brand in the decentralized financial space.</p>  
<p>It's important to note that Curve has encountered similar problems before. Earlier in the year, another scam app also used the Curve name, offering dubious features such as borrower management tools.&nbsp;</p>  
<p>Created by “MK Technology Co. Ltd,” the previous <a href="https://cryptonewsland.com/walletconnect-fraudulent-app-exploits-google-play-steals-70000-from-crypto-users/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">fake app even boasted a 4.6-star rating</a> to enhance its legitimacy. These repeated impersonation incidents raise concerns over app store security and emphasize the need for user vigilance in the DeFi space.</p>

<p>Besides offering fake services, these counterfeit apps use deceptive descriptions, claiming to provide puzzle games and multiple gameplay modes to lure users. This tactic complicates the verification process for casual users, increasing the <a href="https://cryptonewsland.com/revolutionizing-crypto-practice-top-paper-trading-apps-unveiled/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">risk of them downloading scam apps</a>. Additionally, these impersonators continue to target DeFi users, a group increasingly susceptible to fraud due to the complex nature of decentralized finance.</p>  
<p>Curve Finance has urged app stores to enforce stricter security measures to prevent future scams. The company also advises users to double-check applications and report suspicious ones immediately. With DeFi <a href="https://dfpi.ca.gov/crypto-scams/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">scams</a> on the rise, industry leaders and developers are calling for greater awareness, caution, and verification to safeguard assets and maintain user trust in the crypto ecosystem.</p>
