The Shiba Inu ecosystem will soon witness major developments, as several updates are slated to launch on Shibarium and ShibaSwap. As Lucie, the project’s marketing lead, announced, the timeline for these upgrades is fast approaching.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-treat-launch-and-enhanced-shibarium-services">TREAT Launch and Enhanced Shibarium Services</h2>
Specifically, the Shiba Inu community has been anticipating the launch of TREAT, a new token in the ecosystem. However, Lucie hinted at a new rollout going live on ShibaSwap. According to Lucie, this is an enhanced staking feature termed Bury 2.0.
With Bury 2.0, the community will become more involved through an advanced staking model on <a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2024/10/27/is-shiba-inu-poised-for-a-rally-as-shibaswap-2-0-goes-live/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ShibaSwap</a>. Lucie says users can stake SHIB tokens on either the Ethereum blockchain or Shibarium—Shiba Inu’s Layer 2 network. The ecosystem will automatically incentivize users who take advantage of the offerings to drive this process.
Lucie explained that all stakeholders will receive benefits. Short-term stakers will get modest returns, while those staking for longer durations on Shibarium might see larger incentives. So, the longer the staking period, the greater the potential reward.
Additionally, staking for longer periods offers leverage of influence in the proposed Shiba Inu <a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2024/10/18/shiba-inu-shib-displays-unusual-price-trend-as-team-unveils-dao-update/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Decentralized Autonomous Organization</a> (DOGGY DAO 2.0). These will help in making decisions on the direction of future projects.
Shibarium long-term stakers might also receive special rewards, like airdrops and perks, to recognize their commitment. Lucie teased two other upcoming updates: SHIB Liquidity Wars and Community Events.
SHIB Liquidity Wars is a gamified form of staking that allows users to compete for rewards in WOOF 2.0. Per the update from the Shiba Inu team, this is also under development. Meanwhile, the Community Event feature allows long-term stakers to access exclusive events.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-shiba-inu-team-s-plea-to-vitalik-buterin">The Shiba Inu Team’s Plea to Vitalik Buterin</h2>
In the meantime, Shiba Inu developers Shytoshi Kusama and Kaal Dhairya have appealed to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.
In separate posts on X, the developers pleaded with Buterin to consider another $1 billion donation. In 2021, Buterin <a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2021/05/17/ethereum-co-founder-vitalik-buterin-just-wiped-off-7-trillion-in-shiba-inu-coins/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">supported</a> COVID relief efforts in India as part of his charitable contributions.
The donation boosted SHIB’s price because of the volume. However, reactions trailed in the transparency and management of the donation. Dhairya has proposed better management and transparency with Shiba Inu’s on-chain non-profit infrastructure.
He emphasized that every SHIB holder can track and monitor the utility of such a contribution from the Ethereum co-founder. Thus, Dhairya acknowledged the limitations of the last donation and assured better stewardship this time. He invited Vitalik Buterin to consider Shiba Inu’s new system to channel his philanthropic gestures.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-potential-impact-on-shib-s-market-value">Potential Impact on SHIB’s Market Value</h2>
Despite the bullish sentiment among ShibArmy and a 3.99% climb in market volume to $434.34 million, SHIB’s price has not rebounded as anticipated. As of this writing, SHIB exchanged hands at $0.00001767, which represents a 2.16% decrease within the last 24 hours, according to data.
With the media hype about the upcoming updates among community members, some have continued to invest in the memecoin. Market observers maintain that if Vitalik Buterin should support the ecosystem with another contribution, it might make a difference. If these projections play out, advocates believe the SHIB price will ultimately skyrocket.
