We live in a world where digital transformation is becoming the cornerstone of modern society, creating a greater need for accessible, user-centred design. World Usability Day (WUD) is at the forefront of this movement, empowering communities and professionals globally to prioritize usability in everyday technology.&nbsp; 
For the first time in its 20-year history, WUD makes its African debut in Lagos, Nigeria, at Zone Tech Park. This marks a significant moment not just for Nigeria, but for the entire African tech and design community. 
Founded by Elizabeth Rosenzweig, World Usability Day has long been celebrated across Europe, America, Australia, and Asia, and now Africa joins the global conversation. This year’s theme, “Designing for a Better Africa,” aims to bring together professionals, government bodies, educational institutions, and everyday citizens with one clear goal: to make the services and products we rely on easier to access and simpler to use. 
WUDAfrica’24, hosted by industry geniuses including Joseph Kalu, Somtochukwu Mbamalu, and Robinson Maggie, truly stands out about WUD Africa in its focus on practical, hands-on learning. The event will comprise keynote talks, workshops, and networking sessions. It boasts a stellar lineup of local and international design community speakers.&nbsp;

Among the workshop facilitators are:

 <li>Dumebi Iwuchukwu (Head of Design at Stears) will talk deeply on “Design for Persuasion: Telling Compelling Stories with Data,”&nbsp;</li> 
 <li>Iwalola Sobowale (Head of CX Research at Moniepoint) will spotlight “Going Beyond The Survey: Creative User Research Methods.”</li> 
 <li>Pärt Ojamaa (Service Designer, Nortal Ltd) will lecture on “Breaking Down Barriers: Designing Inclusive Public Services” through a workshop.</li> 
</ul> 
For the stellar lineup of speakers, we have the likes of; Tunde Kabir Mason (Product Design Lead, Kuda) and Olamilekan Dauda Olawale (Founder, Creat Naija). 
The event also boosts a panel session that will discuss The Future of Usability in Africa: Emerging Trends and Opportunities. We have notable experts such as; Daniel (Nonso) Udumukwu (Lead product designer, Yellow Card), Alison Eyo (Senior Product Designer, Moniepoint), Donye Collins (Design Manager, Outliant) and Blessing Nwokolo (Software Development Engineer in Test, Palmpay) 
The Keynote Speaker for the day will be delivered by Elizabeth Rosenzweig (Founder of World Usability Day) 
Running from 8:00 AM GMT+1 at Lagos’s Zone Tech Park on the 16th of November, 2024, this event is expected to draw a wide range of participants eager to explore new trends and tools in usability and design.
