<p>Today marks an important day for the US and the entire world, as Republican nominee, Donald Trump, won the elections.</p> 
<p>During his victory discourse, he made important promises, including ending divisions, helping make America healthy again, and allowing success for the people, setting the stage for a new golden age.</p> 
<p>Throughout 2024, Trump also made significant promises for the crypto industry, an industry that helped him achieve this massive success. Here are the top promises Trump delivered this year in relation to Bitcoin and crypto.</p>

<h3 id="1-bitcoin-made-in-the-usa">1. Bitcoin “Made in the USA”</h3> 
<p>On June 12, Trump shared a post on Truth Social, saying that he wanted all the remaining Bitcoin to be made in the US. He said that this would help the country become energy-dominant.</p>

<p>In July, the Republican Party revealed a draft of its political program which mentioned crypto under its innovation section, along with the development programs for AI and space expansion.</p> 
<p>The document summarized the main crypto objective of the Trump administration, highlighting that the Republicans will:</p>

 <li>Oppose the creation of a CBDC</li> 
 <li>Defend the right to mine Bitcoin</li>

<p>The political program was codified following Trump’s <a href="https://crypto.ro/en/news/trump-lays-out-plan-to-make-us-the-worlds-bitcoin-superpower/">comments</a> at the 2024 Bitcoin Conference in Nashville, where he promised that the day he takes the oath, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ anti-crypto crusade will be over.</p> 
<h3 id="3-protecting-bitcoin-and-self-custody">3. Protecting Bitcoin and Self-Custody</h3> 
<p>During the Nashville conference, Trump also highlighted how the last administration has been against Bitcoin.</p> 
<p>He said that Bitcoin stands for freedom, sovereignty, and independence from government control and coercion, and he is committed to shutting down Operation Choke Point 2.0, also brought up by <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidbirnbaum/2024/07/27/the-5-most-important-promises-trump-made-at-bitcoin-2024/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Forbes</a>, and creating a Bitcoin and Crypto Presidential Advisory Council.</p> 
<p>He also promised to defend the right to self-custody, and freedom of transaction, association, and speech.</p> 
<p>Operation Choke Point 2.0 refers to a coordinated campaign among the Biden White House, the Federal Reserve, the OCC, the FDIC, and the DOJ to deny Bitcoin companies access to traditional financial systems.</p> 
<h3 id="4-supporting-global-savings-in-bitcoin">4. Supporting Global Savings in Bitcoin</h3> 
<p>During the same conference, Trump said that he would support USD stablecoins and global savings in Bitcoin, highlighting that the real threat to the US dollar was the US Government’s behavior and not Bitcoin.</p> 
<h3 id="5-making-the-us-the-crypto-capital-of-the-planet">5. Making the US the Crypto Capital of the Planet</h3> 
<p>As highlighted by <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2024/07/27/trump-bitcoin-conference-harris.html" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">CNBC</a>, Trump also promised to make the US the crypto capital of the planet and the Bitcoin superpower of the world.</p> 
<p>This is a statement that Trump made more times in 2024, vowing to protect Bitcoin.</p> 
<h3 id="6-turning-the-us-into-a-bitcoin-mining-powerhouse">6. Turning the US into a Bitcoin Mining Powerhouse</h3> 
<p>Trump also pledged to make the US the lowest-cost energy producer in the world, considering its natural resources, and turn it into a Bitcoin mining powerhouse.</p>

<p>Trump <a href="https://x.com/balajis/status/1817342210549199154" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">promised</a> to stop the US Government from selling its Bitcoin reserves and create a core strategic national Bitcoin stockpile.</p> 
<h3 id="8-paying-off-the-national-35-trillion-debt-in-crypto">8. Paying Off the National $35 Trillion Debt in Crypto</h3> 
<p>During an event related to his NFT collection, Trump <a href="https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Hh3BqtJQmOQ" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">claimed</a> that crypto has a great future, and suggested that maybe the country could pay off the $35 trillion debt in crypto.</p> 
<h3 id="9-firing-gary-gensler-on-day-1">9. Firing Gary Gensler on Day 1</h3> 
<p>Gary Gensler is the chair of the US Securities and Exchange Commission, and Trump <a href="https://youtu.be/_TmuLMwfwSM" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">promised</a> to fire him on day one of his Presidency.</p> 
<p>Lately, under his administration, the SEC has opened multiple cases against major crypto firms for allegedly selling unregistered securities. The US SEC has been known for pushing hard for intense regulatory clarity.</p> 
<h3 id="10-freeing-silk-road-s-ross-ulbricht">10. Freeing Silk Road’s Ross Ulbricht</h3> 
<p>During the Libertarian National Convention, Trump<a href="https://youtu.be/X8ofi6U0eWE" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"> said</a> that on day one he would commute the sentence of Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the darknet market Silk Road.</p>

<p>In August, during an <a href="https://crypto.ro/en/news/elon-musk-shut-down-massive-x-cyber-attack-ahead-of-record-shattering-trump-interview/">interview</a> with Elon Musk on X Spaces, Trump committed to Musk, another Bitcoin, DOGE, and crypto supporter, that he would create a Department of Government Efficiency Commission led by him to cut costs and size of the Federal Government.</p> 
<p>Today, during his victory speech as <a href="https://crypto.ro/en/news/donald-trump-wins-the-us-presidency-bitcoin-sets-a-new-ath-above-75k/">the new US President</a>, Trump<a href="https://x.com/cb_doge/status/1854069606274449875" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> thanked</a> Elon Musk for his endorsement, for all the work that he’s done in Pennsylvania, and for providing Starlink and relief that saved countries.</p> 
<p>Musk has been an enormous support for Trump, and for the whole world by buying Twitter, rebranding it to X, and allowing free speech to let the world read and hear the thoughts of previously censored important names.</p>
