<p>Dogecoin is further establishing itself as a market-leading cryptocurrency, and it’s now just $2 billion away from flipping XRP’s market cap.</p> 
<p>So, will DOGE continue its current momentum following recent endorsements from Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s election victory?</p>

<p>Historical price action, Elon Musk’s growing power, and a meme coin supercycle. These three things are colliding to potentially give Dogecoin the most bullish setup it has ever had.</p> 
<p>Starting with its price action, it’s currently forming an identical chart pattern to prior to its last cycle’s bull rally, which catapulted it to a market cap of $80 billion.</p> 
<p>Having already broken its bear market accumulation range, it is now retesting its 2024 highs. And with the bullish fundamentals we’re about to explore, there is every chance it breaks this ceiling.</p>

<p>But let’s briefly return to XRP. First, it’s currently trading at $0.54 – the same price it was at 18 months ago, in March 2023.</p>

<p><a href="https://crypto.news/price/dogecoin/" target="_blank">Dogecoin</a> was trading under $0.7 back then, 3x lower than now.</p> 
<p>Based on relative strength, Dogecoin clearly has the upper hand.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>Moreover, XRP’s most bullish catalyst (winning the lawsuit against the SEC) has already happened. Yet, the price barely moved.</p> 
<p>Also, Ripple Labs is planning to launch a stablecoin for RippleNet, which could reduce the utility of XRP, making it an even less desirable token.</p> 
<p>At the same time, the case for Dogecoin keeps getting stronger.</p> 
<p>It’s no secret that it’s Elon Musk’s favorite cryptocurrency. And Musk just played an instrumental role in helping Donald Trump win the presidential election.</p> 
<p>Musk is even expected to lead a new US Government unit called the Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E) once Trump takes office.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>Since its acronym mirrors Dogecoin’s DOGE ticker symbol, Musk has already been having fun with this online.</p>

<p>Trump’s Inauguration Day is 20 January, so we can expect excitement for Musk’s new position to continue throughout the next few months.</p> 
<p>Crypto prices are driven by narratives, and Dogecoin has one of strongest around right now.</p> 
<p>Moreover, meme coins have prevailed as a legitimate asset class in 2024. This is evident in Dogecoin outpacing XRP, but it’s much deeper than that.</p> 
<p>Traders have realized that crypto prices are primarily driven by speculation (and narratives). If enough people believe in something, it’s price will go up.</p> 
<p>As such, this market cycle is being coined the “meme coin supercycle,” and joke tokens are expected to outperform the conventional crypto assets.</p> 
<p>Indeed, Dogecoin’s position as the largest meme coin positions it for strong gains.</p>

<p>But amid the so-called meme coin supercycle, it’s lower market cap meme coins providing the biggest returns.</p> 
<p>For example, while Dogecoin has rallied 168% in the past year, new entrant Peanut the Squirrel has surged 147% this week.</p> 
<p>The likes of GOAT have also seen huge pumps in recent weeks.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>And new presale token Flockerz is the next meme coin that traders think might explode, with some even tipping it for 10x gains.</p>
