<p>MARA Holdings and Semler have announced a significant move to strengthen their position in the cryptocurrency market. MARA Holdings Inc. has <a href="https://cryptonewsland.com/mara-holdings-launches-700m-notes-offering-to-expand-bitcoin-holdings-and-cut-debt/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">launched</a> a significant $700 million private offering of convertible senior notes, while Semler has raised $21.5 million. Both firms seek to purchase more Bitcoins and use the cryptocurrency as a hedge and a tool for future development.</p>

<p>MARA has provided solutions for improving the company’s financial structure and increasing the flow of bitcoins. The notes, which are due in 2030, will <a href="https://ir.mara.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/1377/mara-holdings-inc-announces-proposed-private-offering-of-700-million-of-convertible-senior-notes#:~:text=(NASDAQ%3A%20MARA)%20(%E2%80%9C,the%20%E2%80%9Cnotes%E2%80%9D)%20in%20a" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">bear</a> interest which shall be paid in March and September, starting in March 2025.</p>  
<p>The rest will be used to buy convertible notes due in 2026 that have been listed in MARA’s balance sheet to enhance its financial robustness. Additionally, the rest of the proceeds will go towards buying Bitcoins.&nbsp;</p>  
<p>This move is in line with other businesses' initiatives to increase their Bitcoin holdings, such as MicroStrategy. Marathon Digital, the parent business of MARA, is among the top holders with 27,562 BTC. Semler has used part of these funds to purchase 215 additional Bitcoin. This brings its total holdings to<a href="https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2024/11/18/semler-scientific-added-215-bitcoin-to-holdings-bringing-stack-to-1273-btc/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> 1,273 BTC</a>. The move marks a change in strategy for Semler, which traditionally focused on medical technology. It has now embraced Bitcoin as part of its corporate strategy.</p>
