<p>In November 2023, <strong>Richard Teng</strong> <a href="https://www.unlock-bc.com/112541/binance-leadership-shift-legal-landmark-fines-crypto-industry/">stepped</a> into one of the most scrutinized roles in the crypto industry: replacing <strong>Changpeng Zhao (CZ)</strong> as CEO of Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. Marking his one-year anniversary, Teng shared a heartfelt letter reflecting on his journey, the challenges faced, and the milestones achieved during this transformative year.</p> 
<p>As he wrote in the letter: “Many doubted whether both Binance and crypto could emerge unscathed, let alone thrive. Instead, this past year has proven to be one of the most transformative and inspiring chapters in our history.”</p>

<p>These efforts have earned Binance 20+ regulatory approvals, including in key markets like India and Argentina, further solidifying its reputation as a responsible industry leader.</p>

<p>Despite regulatory challenges, Binance saw tremendous growth under Teng’s leadership. It also became the first centralized exchange to surpass $100 trillion in all-time trading volume across spot and derivatives markets.</p> 
<p>Institutional adoption was another highlight, with Binance doubling the rate of professional onboarding compared to the previous year.
