<p>For those who might not know, <a href="https://www.namecheap.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Namecheap</a> is a company that helps people buy domain names for websites. In the past, you would have to pay for a domain name using traditional methods, like credit cards. But Namecheap has let people use Bitcoin as payment for years. And now, they’re seeing huge success with it.</p>

<p>Namecheap has been accepting Bitcoin payments for a long time and was the first domain registrar to do so, starting in 2013 through <a href="https://btcpayserver.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">BitPay</a>. In 2020, they partnered with BTCPay to give customers even more payment options and flexibility. BTCPay also serves as a backup in case there are problems with other Bitcoin payment platforms.</p>
<h5><strong>More About the Namecheap &amp; BitPay Partnership</strong></h5>
<p>According to a <a href="https://blog.btcpayserver.org/case-study-namecheap/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">blog post</a> from BitPay, here are some key tools they used during the process:</p>
<ul>
 <li><strong>BTCPay Server</strong> – An open-source web server compatible with BitPay’s API, allowing us to create invoices, process payments, issue refunds, and more.</li>
 <li><strong>PostgreSQL</strong> – The database that stores data for BTCPay Server.</li>
 <li><strong>NBXplorer</strong> – A REST interface over Bitcoin Core that enables <a href="https://www.kraken.com/es-es/learn/what-is-bitcoin-unspent-transaction-output-utxo" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitcoin transactions (UTXO)</a>, an open-source solution.</li>
 <li><strong>Bitcoin Core</strong> – A Bitcoin node that verifies transactions and provides a soft wallet, open-source under the MIT License.</li>
</ul>
<p>The first BTCPay Server transaction on Namecheap took place on May 18, 2020. Since then, we’ve seen:</p>

 <li>Over 500,000 users.</li>
 <li>More than $73 million in revenue.</li>
 <li>Payments from over 200 countries around the world.</li>
