The <a href="https://www.ethnews.com/president-elect-trump-considers-replacing-gensler-with-crypto-friendly-candidates-to-foster-a-favorable-environment-for-digital-assets/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">SEC’s updated</a> rules in February 2024 mandated that entities with substantial capital involvement in market-making must register as dealers or securities dealers.
