Grand Theft Auto 6 fans have been disappointed yet again after the popular moon theory was debunked and the long-awaited second trailer of the game wasn’t released. 
While this theory may have some truth to it based on the previous evidence, it is now obvious that Rockstar Games does not follow lunar phases to determine its trailer releases. 
The first GTA 6 trailer was released almost a year ago. Since then, fans have been waiting for Rockstar to release another trailer for its highly anticipated game. GTA’s fanbase tried to go one step ahead and did everything it could to predict the release date of the next trailer. However, Rockstar is currently silent about the 2nd trailer. 
Earlier in September 2023, Rockstar released an image for GTA Online featuring a large moon. This moon was in the Waning Gibbous phase. In real-life, moon entered this phase on 1st December, 2023, which was also the day when Rockstar released the date for the first trailer of GTA 6. 
Some may call this a coincidence, but then Rockstar released another promotional image for GTA Online featuring a Waning Gibbous moon. This happened at the start of November, 2024. This got fans excited about a potential announcement about the second trailer of GTA 6. 
<h3 id="the-moon-theory-has-been-proven-wrong">The moon theory has been proven wrong</h3> 
At that time, the moon was in the Waning Gibbous phase. Based on past patterns, fans predicted that Rockstar will release its second trailer of GTA 6 on November 22, 2024. It is the day when the lunar phase ends. However, the day has now passed, and Rockstar hasn’t made an announcement. 
It is understandable why the GTA 6 fanbase is disappointed, despite being very optimistic about the moon theory. Now it is uncertain when the 2nd trailer will come. 
For many fans, the silence surrounding GTA 6 is very frustrating. However, both Take-Two and Rockstar have affirmed that the game will release in fall 2025. This window has been announced several times in 2024. 
Since the conviction is strong, there is a high chance that Rockstar will have new marketing content planned for GTA 6 soon. Even though the moon theory has been proven false, fans are still hopeful that they will hear something about GTA 6’s second trailer soon.
