The real-time arcade game play set for release in the summer of 2025 will give gamers governance control over their own clubs. That is, FIFA Rivals allows users to manage their club and compete against other players on the platform.
According to Mythical, gamers get to “build their squad, create legacy and dominate the competition.” This suggests that gamers will have freedom to form a team and select their favored players. Mythical CEO, John Linden believes FIFA Rivals could attract a huge following.
Linden projects about 100 million gamers could jump on FIFIA Rivals when launched next year. His optimism stems from the NFL Rivals game which has over six million players signed up. This is despite having fewer audiences unlike football with a huge fan base. Globally, about five billion people tuned into the 2022 FIFA World Cup compared to approximately 500 million that watched the NFL playoffs last year.
