<a href="https://supra.com/">Supra</a>, an intriguing project that began life as a data oracle before evolving into a full-blown Layer-1 blockchain ecosystem, is sparking into life with its highly anticipated mainnet launch and Token Generation Event.&nbsp; 
The launch of the Supra mainnet today means it can finally mint its native SUPRA token, which is simultaneously being listed on top-tier crypto exchanges like ByBit, Gate.Io, Kucoin and MEXC.&nbsp; 
There’s a lot of excitement about Supra because it’s a truly <a href="https://supra.com/news/supras-new-layer-1-blockchain-breaks-records-tge-coming-soon/">novel blockchain project</a> that integrates key capabilities not found on any other decentralized network, including <a href="https://supra.com/oracles-product/">oracle price feeds</a>, verifiable <a href="https://supra.com/vrf-product/">on-chain randomness</a> and built-in <a href="https://supra.com/vertical-integration/">cross-chain interoperability</a> and automation.&nbsp; 
These innovations should enable Supra to support a new generation of more sophisticated decentralized applications that can keep complexity to an absolute minimum, while benefiting from its extremely robust architecture. According to the team, the Supra L1 can power 500,000 transactions per second via its <a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2401.01791">Moonshot consensus mechanism</a> and a network of more than 300 globally distributed nodes, with sub-second latencies.&nbsp; 
Those numbers put Supra up there among the fastest blockchains in the industry, including Solana, which is renowned for its rapid transaction throughput. What’s more, there’s plenty more to look forward to, with the mainnet launch paving the way for upcoming features like EVM and Solana Virtual Machine support. In addition, Supra recently pioneered its <a href="https://supra.com/containers/">Supra Containers</a>, which provide a separate execution space for developers to create independent ecosystems and economies on Solana, without needing to bootstrap liquidity or set up external services and validators. With all of these novel capabilities, Supra’s team believes it has everything in place to support a new era of Super dApps.&nbsp; 
According to Supra co-founder and Chief Executive Joshua Tobkin, the mainnet launch is the culmination of years of dedicated work. “With our high-performance network delivering 500k TPS and our MultiVM support, native oracle, VRF, and automation services, Supra is creating an all-encompassing environment for Super dApps,” he insisted.&nbsp; 
<h3 id="airdrop-incoming">Airdrop Incoming!</h3> 
There are a lot of people anticipating the Token Generation Event. The project has been getting traction in the blockchain community since early 2023, and its <a href="https://supra.com/blastoff">Project Blastoff Campaign</a> has signed up more than 512,000 users. The vast majority have completed various quests to become eligible to receive some of the first SUPRA tokens via an airdrop, and they’ll finally be able to claim their tokens as they parachute in today.&nbsp; 
Of course, those who claim their free tokens won’t be able to cash in yet due to vesting restrictions designed to reward long-term “hodling”, but there should be plenty of swapping going on with SUPRA’s listings on ByBit, Gate.Io, Kucoin and MEXC, with more exchanges set to be added to that list in the coming weeks.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
Developers are also eager to embrace Supra’s mainnet launch. Since its incentivized testnet went live in August this year, it has so far processed more than 9 million transactions. Some of the leading dApps on Supra’s testnet include the blockchain Astro Predictions and Dice Vision, and there are many more planning to launch with the mainnet’s arrival.&nbsp; 
Supra’s co-founder and Chief Business Officer Jon Jones said he and his team have been actively collaborating with the wider Web3 community to foster the creation of a resilient and scalable ecosystem of dAps.&nbsp;
