Mog Coin (MOG) plummeted, leading a 5.5% plunge in the cat-themed meme coin sector, but new viral token Catslap (SLAP) defied the downtrend with an 8% surge after its recent 10 million token burn.
The MOG price slumped 4% in the past day, bringing its weekly losses to more than 18%. This brought the feline crypto’s price down to $0.000002366 as of 4:24 a.m. EST.

The largest cat-themed token by market cap, Popcat (<a href="https://insidebitcoins.com/news/popcat-challenger-new-meme-coin-catslap-slap-price-surge-coming-after-10m-token-burn-and-slap-to-earn-tease" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">POPCAT</a>), also suffered a price drop in the last 24 hours. Following its 1% drop, the Solana token’s weekly performance is more than 16% in the red.&nbsp;
Meanwhile, Cat In A Dog’s World (MEW) underwent a minor 24-hour correction. Similar to POPCAT and MOG, its 24-hour retracement pushed its weekly performance deeper into the red zone as well. Mister Miggles (MIGGLES) suffered the biggest weekly loss of more than 29% following a slight drop in its price in the last 24 hours.

While the majority of cat-themed tokens suffer losses, new market entrant <a href="https://insidebitcoins.com/visit/catslap" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Catslap Token</a> is among a handful of cat-themed tokens to buck the downturn. The project’s team recently announced a 10 million token burn to celebrate the 10 million slaps performed worldwide in its viral game.
Following the reduction in the meme coin’s supply, the continued hype around the project had the expected result. Data from <a href="https://www.dextools.io/app/en/token/catslap?t=1732869174614" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Dextools</a> shows that SLAP’s price pumped over 8% in the last 24 hours.

The latest price surge adds to Catslap’s impressive momentum so far. Since its launch just over a week ago, the token has made its way into the wallets of more than 8K holders.
 Its market cap has also already soared above $21.7 million and more than 14 million slaps have now been unleashed by token holders around the world.
Catslap’s impressive growth may just be starting, as the team announced that they will be adding a play-to-earn (P2E) element to their viral game soon. 
This has led to speculation that Catslap could achieve the same success as clicker game Hamster Kombat (HMSTR), which attracted the attention of several leading exchanges and currently boasts a capitalization of $253 million.
