Sam Altman-backed <a href="https://x.com/worldcoin/status/1862276636143436167" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">World Network</a>, formerly Worldcoin, has launched a pilot for its World ID Passport Credential. The program is being tested in countries like Chile, Colombia, Malaysia, and South Korea. Which is aiming to transform online identity verification and offer users a chance to earn extra WLD tokens. 
With people expecting its expansion to other nations, including India. The credential securely stores user data on devices and offers additional WLD tokens to eligible participants, with token availability decreasing over time as more regions are added.

d<a href="https://world.org/blog/announcements/new-world-id-passport-credential-launches-access-wld-tokens" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The World ID Passport</a> Credential pilot program is available to iOS users in Chile, Colombia, Malaysia, and South Korea with NFC-enabled passports. The World Network has indicated that support for Android devices will be rolled out soon. By expanding the program’s reach the credential system will be available to users in additional countries shortly. 
The World ID Passport Credential offers more than privacy and security; it also unlocks new rewards for users. While anyone who has verified their World ID via an eligible Orb device is already eligible for a base amount of WLD tokens. Those who add the Verified Passport Credential can claim additional tokens. Which is even if their World ID has not been verified through the Orb system.

The World ID Passport Credential announcement and its token rewards have significantly impacted the cryptocurrency market. WLD, the native cryptocurrency of World Network, saw a surge of over 13% and volume also surged by 145%.
