In its big launch event, Hyperliquid distributed 31% of its total 1 billion HYPE tokens to the community. The rest of the supply has been carefully allocated: 38.8% is set aside for future rewards and emissions, 6% goes to the Hyper Foundation treasury, and 0.3% is reserved for grants.
Core contributors are also getting their share—23.8% of the tokens—but with a catch. These tokens are locked for a year, and the vesting period stretches out until 2028. Interestingly, Hyperliquid has taken a unique approach by not allocating any tokens to private investors, centralized exchanges, or market makers, keeping the focus firmly on its community-driven vision.
