This feature was first introduced at the<a href="https://youtu.be/_RWvsCZ17x8?si&#61;TJSH65ZEkpZK_yCh" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> &#34;A New World&#34; event</a> in San Francisco a month ago.To ensure privacy and security, the feature stores all personal data directly on the user&#39;s device without sharing it with the World Foundation, TFH, or any third party. Using the anonymizing infrastructure of the World ID protocol, users can privately verify details such as age and nationality online while maintaining full anonymity.The World ID Passport Credential offers several benefits, including expanding access to the World Network for up to 1.2 billion passport holders, especially those who are far from Orb verification centres. It also allows users to verify identity traits beyond humanness and claim additional WLD tokens, regardless of whether they have completed Orb verification.Currently, individuals verifying via the Orb can claim around 51.65 WLD, but the credential pilot allows users with NFC-enabled passports to claim even more, increasing global token distribution. The total amount of claimable tokens is designed to decrease over time.The pilot is initially available on iOS and will expand to Android devices and additional regions in the near future.In another development, Fabian Bodensteiner, managing director of Worldcoin’s European subsidiary,<a href="https://defi-planet.com/2024/10/worldcoin-targets-asia-pacific-for-growth-executive-cites-greater-innovation-potential-over-europe/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> revealed</a> that the project is refocusing its efforts from Europe to Asia.
