<p>During his <a href="https://x.com/saylor/status/1863323760511627565" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">three-minute speech</a>, Saylor emphasized the transformative potential of <a href="https://coincu.com/294609-spot-bitcoin-etfs-purchased/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bitcoin</a>, which he described as the "core opportunity" of the next wave of technological innovation.</p>   
<p>The MicroStrategy executive chairman flashed slides that showed Bitcoin's market capitalization rising from $2 trillion to $280 trillion by 2045, giving it a sizeable chunk of the $900 trillion global asset market. He emphasized how Bitcoin is an ultra-performing asset in front of all other traditional instruments of finance, with higher annualized returns and lower counterparty risks.</p>   
<p>Among his suggestions, Saylor called for <a href="https://coincu.com/209403-aptos-labs-and-microsoft-unite/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Microsoft</a> to budget for Bitcoin investments, which, he said, could displace traditional dividend and stock repurchase policies. He indicated this approach could increase its market capitalization by an additional $4.9 trillion by 2034.</p>

<p>The development follows <a href="https://x.com/saylor/status/1849790766945587241" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Michael Saylor's public appeal</a> to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella in October, offering to help generate a trillion dollars for shareholders through a Bitcoin-based treasury strategy.</p>   
<p>Saylor's pitch came amid news that Microsoft shareholders were <a href="https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/789019/000119312524242884/d878959ddefa14a.htm" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">set to vote</a> on a proposal to explore Bitcoin as a reserve asset—a measure the board has recommended against.</p>   
<p>Market analysts say institutional shareholders like Vanguard, <a href="https://coincu.com/291166-blackrock-bitcoin-etf-has-now-surpassed-gold-etf/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">BlackRock</a>, State Street, and Fidelity may have a say in Microsoft's decision. Though the board <a href="https://coincu.com/288922-microsoft-rejects-bitcoin-investment-proposal/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">opposes</a> it, Saylor's advocacy lends momentum to the discussions on Bitcoin's role in corporate finance.</p>
