BinanceUS plans to add the top Pepe-The-Frog-themed meme coin to its trading platform.
BinanceUS will <a href="https://support.binance.us/hc/en-us/articles/28252211091223-Binance-US-lists-Pepe-PEPE-Deposit-now" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">activate</a> trading facilities for Pepe (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/pepe/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">PEPE</a>), crypto’s third-largest meme coin token by market cap. The token is available on Binance’s global exchange, but its American subsidiary refrained from listing several digital assets due to regulatory uncertainty and litigation.&nbsp;
However, policy constraints and crypto crackdowns declined after Republican Donald Trump won the Nov. 6 presidential elections. Since Trump’s victory, BinanceUS and Coinbase have listed many meme coins for U.S. crypto investors.

Coinbase has onboarded Giga Chad, Turbo (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/turbo/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">TURBO</a>), Dogwifhat (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/dogwifhat/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">WIF</a>), and Floki (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/floki/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">FLOKI</a>), to name a few, after President Trump’s re-election.&nbsp;
Meme coins have often witnessed price surges following listings on major centralized exchanges like Binance and Coinbase. The same was true for PEPE, which jumped 10% after the BinanceUS announcement.
However, it was unclear if the token spiked due to the news or if meme prices rose along with the broader digital asset market. At press time, the total crypto market grew by 2.6% to reach $3.7 trillion. The meme sector ascended with this uptrend, hitting $133 billion in total. Cumulative meme coin value was only a few million away from Tether’s (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/tether/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">USDT</a>) market cap of $134 billion.
