<p>The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is preparing to review several Solana-based ETF applications early next year. Sources have indicated that the regulatory body has accepted filings from four firms, with decisions expected by late January 2025.</p>

<p>Notably, VanEck, 21Shares, Canary, and Bitwise submitted their ETF applications on November 21, 2024. The SEC accepted the proposals on the same day, initiating a timeline under which it must provide initial decisions within 45 days.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Intriguingly, these applications fall under the SEC’s 19b-4 proposal framework, allowing issuers to list and trade securities on national exchanges while awaiting approval. The regulatory body has three options: approve, deny, or extend the review period. Historically, the SEC has leaned toward extending reviews, particularly with cryptocurrency-related proposals.</p>
