<p>A first-edition Holographic Charizard Pokémon card from 1999, graded PSA 10, is going up for auction tomorrow for $250,000 on Courtyard.io, a collectibles platform.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>The card will be tokenized using Polygon blockchain network and the online auction will run for 30 days.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The card will be stored securely in a Brink’s vault, and buyers will receive blockchain tokens as proof of ownership. According to Marc Boiron, the CEO of Polygon Labs, this approach is to ensure safety and avoid the hassle of physical shipping.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>&nbsp;“This auction isn’t just about a Charizard card; it’s about showing how blockchain can revolutionize the collectibles world,” he said.</p>

<p>Courtyard.io allows collectors to buy, sell, and trade physical items like cards through non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The auction will feature the digital representation of the card, using blockchain technology to offer secure storage, instant global trading, and high-resolution 3D models.</p> 
<p>Collectors can trade the tokenized card, and they can also request the physical card sent to them from a Brink’s vault whenever they choose a similar card.</p> 
<p>Nicolas le Jeune, the CEO of Courtyard.io, expressed his thoughts on how tokenization is changing the collectibles market. He said “Tokenization is changing the game for collectibles. With this auction, we’re not just spotlighting an iconic card; we’re demonstrating how Courtyard’s platform is transforming how people collect and trade”</p> 
<p>Polygon said it bought the card from a trusted seller and similar Charizard cards have sold for between $264,000 and $400,000 as confirmed from <a href="http://public.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">Public.com</a>, which means the card has high value and high demand.</p>
