Smaller digital assets also suffered, with an index tracking these tokens falling as much as 15%, one of the steepest single-day drops this year.</p>  
<p>The sudden price drop had wiped out about $150 billion in value over 24 hours, coming off a period of rampant speculation that began surging after Trump's election on November 5.</p>  
<p>Investors had been quick to hope he would deliver a friendly regulatory regime, including his most radical idea - a <a href="https://coincu.com/293272-strategic-bitcoin-reserve-driven/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">national Bitcoin reserve</a>. In truth, though, the cryptocurrency market is inherently volatile and leaves investors to pull out at a change of sentiment.</p>

<p>While crypto enthusiasts see Trump's policies as a prelude to the market boom, critics raise flags on increased risks associated with greater mainstream adoption.</p>  
<p>In finance, optimism is still high, with $10 billion flowing into U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds since Trump was elected. <a href="https://coincu.com/296064-microstrategy-bitcoin-purchase-expands/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">MicroStrategy</a>, one of the biggest holders of Bitcoin, recently bought the cryptocurrency for $2.1 billion.</p>
