Ripple hit the headlines just after its stablecoin–RLUSD was finally granted approval by the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS). This marked a big move for Ripple RLUSD entry into the regulated stablecoin space. This sent XRP shooting up 8% as investors get more and more confident in the Ripple ecosystem. CEO Brad Garlinghouse announced the approval on X (formerly Twitter), promising further updates when RLUSD becomes available on exchanges.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Now with this development, Ripple is a serious competitor to other stablecoin issuers like Circle and Paxos. Analysts expect big price increases for XRP with the added utility and liquidity that RLUSD will bring to the table for Ripple. 
<h2 id="b-a-big-deal-for-ripple-b">A Big Deal for Ripple</h2> 
NYDFS is one of the toughest crypto regulators; known for requiring the highest level of transparency, security and consumer protection. This approval sets Ripple in a strong position in the regulated digital finance space and puts Ripple RLUSD in a class of its own, one of the more stable and reliable digital assets. The stablecoin is pegged 1:1 to the US dollar. It runs on the XRP Ledger and ETH blockchains, making it compatible with existing financial systems. 
Ripple was supposed to launch RLUSD on December 4 but delayed it pending final regulatory approval. Now with the green light from NYDFS, it can be said that Ripple now ranks among the big league stablecoin issuers and there would be a&nbsp; major shift in their product offerings. 
“This just in…we have final approval from [NYDFS] for RLUSD! Exchange and partner listings will be live soon” Brad Garlinghouse announced on December 10.

Ripple’s introduction of RLUSD is not just a new product but a strategic move to solve the volatility problem of XRP and expand its use cases. With RLUSD alongside XRP, Ripple is looking to improve its remittance and settlement services for customers who need stability in digital transactions. 
Ryan Lee, chief analyst at Bitget Research, thinks Ripple RLUSD is a big deal for <a href="https://cryptonews.com/news/ripple-xrp-nydfs-approval-rlusd-stablecoin/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Ripple’s ecosystem</a>. He said, “By increasing transaction volumes and demand for XRP, RLUSD may play a pivotal role in supporting price growth. Additionally, Ripple’s ongoing adoption for cross-border payments continues to bolster market sentiment.”&nbsp;&nbsp; 
The introduction of RLUSD is expected to improve XRP’s liquidity and bring in more institutional involvement. Analysts expect Ripple to overcome the regulatory hurdles and expand its use cases. They forecast the price of XRP will be between $1.8 and $8.4 in 2025 and above $10 in bull scenarios.

Ripple is now competing directly with US stablecoin leaders USDC (Circle) and USDP (Paxos) with RLUSD. However,&nbsp; Ripple’s dual blockchain functionality (XRP Ledger and Ethereum) gives it an interoperability advantage to plug into existing financial systems.

Already XRP has shot up 8% to $2.33 after NYDFS approval. The cryptocurrency is up 70% in 2 weeks and investor sentiment is very strong driven by the recent Ripple regulatory wins and product releases. 
Ripple is still expanding its offerings and RLUSD into the ecosystem might drive more adoption and demand for XRP. However; analysts are still cautious as broader crypto trends, especially Bitcoin’s performance could still impact XRP. 
Ryan Lee said,&nbsp; “Broader crypto market trends; particularly Bitcoin’s performance, remain significant factors influencing XRP’s price trajectory.”&nbsp;&nbsp;
