Digital payment company, <a href="https://www.palmpay.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PalmPay</a> has announced the integration of its wallet into the app of leading e-commerce company, Jumia. This was disclosed during the launch of a partnership between the two companies at the PalmPay office in Ikeja. 
According to the Business Development Manager, Tunde Anifowose, one of PalmPay’s key visions is providing financially inclusive and digitally inclusive payments in Nigeria. Thus, the partnership with Jumia, a leading e-commerce platform in the country, aligns with the fintech’s strategy and goal of providing value to millions of Nigerians nationwide. 
Speaking about the collaboration, Managing Director, Chika Nwosu described the strategic partnership between PalmPay and Jumia as two industry leaders coming together to redefine the online shopping experience for millions of people. 
“At PalmPay our mission has always been clear; to provide economic empowerment by providing reliable, user-friendly and inclusive financial services. Today, that notion takes a significant step forward as we join forces with Jumia, Africa’s premier online shopping destination, to launch this strategic partnership. Today we are launching our first collaboration; paying with PalmPay wallet,” he said.

On his part, CEO of Jumia Nigeria, Sunil Natraj said: “At Jumia, we are dedicated to creating value for our customers by ensuring a convenient, reliable, and secure shopping experience. This partnership with PalmPay strengthens our commitment to enhancing the digital payments within our platform. By integrating PalmPay, we are providing more options for customers to access affordable and quality goods with the convenience of cashless transactions.” 
<h4 id="how-the-palmpay-wallet-works-on-jumia" class="wp-block-heading">How the PalmPay wallet works on Jumia</h4> 
Online shopping will not be complete until the shopper scales through the checkout phase which is the last but certainly not the least phase. While there are several payment outlets for users, PalmPay says its wallet is simply looking out for its already existing 35 million users so that when they shop on Jumia they can easily check out using their PalmPay wallet which is a seamless gateway. 
At the end of shopping on Jumia, the shopper proceeds to the checkout page where there are different payment options. PalmPay is an option under the mobile money wallet section. Clicking on the icon will open a page to add the user’s account number and amount to be debited. The system then sends an OTP which will be imputed to complete payment. 
If customers encounter an issue with their payment, they can reach out to both partners. Anifowose said the platform is an end-to-end solution which means there is an integration between Jumia and PalmPay. So if payment does not go through at the point of checkout, users are not supposed to be debited. But if there is a debit of the customer’s account, PalmPay will handle the situation and then confirm if the money did indeed get to Jumia. 
He said the customer support teams are always on standby to provide any feedback. Essentially, PalmPay will sort the payment and after payment has been completed, the Jumia team will ensure delivery of your items.

PalmPay MD believes that the integration will make the checkout process faster while also ensuring a seamless experience for shoppers across the country. He also announced the launch of a Christmas campaign for users along with the rollout of the partnership. The campaign which will run from December 11 will see users get cashback for using the wallet. 
“During this time, customers who shop on Jumia using PalmPay as their payment method will have the chance to win some great cash rewards. It is our way of adding a little extra joy this festive season. This collaboration is more than just about payment. It is about creating convenience and value for our customers. We are excited about the possibilities this opens up for the future,” he said.
