Sheila Warren, the inaugural CEO of the Crypto Council for Innovation (CCI), has announced her resignation, effective January 2025, marking the end of her three-year leadership at the forefront of global cryptocurrency advocacy. Warren shared her decision in a heartfelt December 13 X <a href="https://x.com/sheila_warren/status/1867673834784244210">post</a>, describing her departure as bittersweet. 
While stepping down, Warren will continue to contribute as Senior Global Policy Officer to support the organization during its leadership transition. Ji Kim, CCI’s current chief legal officer, will assume the role of acting CEO. 
Under Warren’s stewardship, the CCI became a prominent voice <a href="https://thecoinrise.com/coinbase-pushes-for-clear-crypto-regulations-aims-to-educate-lawmakers/">advocating for balanced cryptocurrency regulations</a> worldwide. Reflecting on her tenure, Warren expressed optimism about the industry’s future, particularly in the U.S., where regulatory clarity remains a crucial goal. “I am confident that CCI will achieve a smart regulatory outcome in Washington,” she stated, referencing the organization’s success in shaping crypto policy in other global markets.

Warren’s announcement coincides with a pivotal period in U.S. cryptocurrency policy.
