The NFT market sales have surged amid mixed cryptocurrency price action, with Bitcoin reclaiming the $100,000 level while Ethereum retreated from last week’s $4,000 mark. 
The global cryptocurrency market capitalization has slightly contracted to $3.63 trillion from last week’s $3.67 trillion as per CoinMarketCap data. 
According to the latest data from <a href="https://www.cryptoslam.io/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">CryptoSlam</a>, the NFT market has surged 16.36%, with total sales volume reaching $224.5 million. However, the data shows that the number of unique buyers has decreased by 73.97% to 180,641.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="ethereum-network-sees-a-21-surge">Ethereum network sees a 21% surge</h3> 
The Ethereum (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/ethereum/" target="_blank">ETH</a>) blockchain continues to dominate with $118.9 million in sales, showing a 21.33% increase over the previous period. The network has seen a surge in wash trading, which increased by 117.35% to $43.8 million. 
Bitcoin’s (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/bitcoin/" target="_blank">BTC</a>) NFT ecosystem sales have reached $51.8 million, marking a 14.79% increase. The network’s wash trading has shown a moderate increase of 11.30%, suggesting relatively cleaner trading activity compared to Ethereum.

Solana (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/solana/" target="_blank">SOL</a>) has strengthened its position with $21.4 million in sales, with a growth of 32.12%. Mythos Chain (MYTH) and ImmutableX (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/immutablex/" target="_blank">IMX</a>) complete the top five, with sales of $10.9 million and $8.5 million, respectively. 
The collection rankings have seen major changes: Pudgy Penguins — the collection consists of 8,888 unique penguin avatars — retained its first position. Their sales volume reached $30 million, marking a 51.53% increase from the previous period.&nbsp; 
Pudgy Penguins has evolved beyond just digital art; the brand now explores various licensing opportunities, including physical merchandise and toys inspired by the NFT characters. 
BRC-20 NFTs maintain strong performance with $15.5 million in sales, showing a 54.63% increase. A notable newcomer, LilPudgys, has shown a 1,021.54% surge in sales, reaching $13.5 million. 
Azuki and Guild of Guardians Heroes round out the top five, with Azuki showing particular strength with a 179.46% increase in sales.
