According to a crypto analyst, the approval of a strategic Bitcoin reserve by the U.S. government could disrupt current dynamics. <p>The proposal by Senator Cynthia Lummis to equip the United States with a <a href="https://www.cointribune.com/en/russia-the-strategic-reserve-of-bitcoins-is-taking-shape/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">strategic reserve </a> of Bitcoin equivalent to 5% of the global supply has sparked intense discussions.</p>

<p>On one hand, the initiative reflects increased institutional recognition of BTC. On the other, it could amplify turmoil in an already unpredictable market.</p> 
<p>According to Ben Simpson, CEO of Collective Shift, this initiative could lead to an initial price surge fueled by investor enthusiasm.</p> 
<p>“Bitcoin could skyrocket before dropping suddenly,” he stated. This volatility is not trivial: traders often seek to capitalize on major announcements, causing price spikes followed by brutal corrections.</p> 
<p>In the short term, such legislation could provide an impressive spectacle for investors, but also sow confusion in their strategies.</p>

For analysts, this trend reflects a growing interest in altcoins, these Bitcoin alternatives that are gradually nibbling away at their share of the pie.</p> 
<p>However, Simpson remains cautious: “The transition to an altcoin season will not be linear.” Investors may face extreme volatility periods, making a clear rotation of capital from Bitcoin to altcoins difficult.</p> 
<p>Nevertheless, this dynamic underscores a paradigm shift where BTC, once the uncontested king, must now share the stage with more innovative challengers.</p> 
<p>While Bitcoin may experience short-term jolts, institutions continue to reinforce their faith in this asset. Analysts at Bitfinex estimate that, despite possible fluctuations, Bitcoin will remain a cornerstone of institutional portfolios. “Even after a drop, Bitcoin will still be viewed as a credible substitute for gold,” they underscore.</p>
