Lens v2 on Polygon → Lens v3 on Lens Chain Migration.

The Lens team migrated 125GB of profiles, managers, connections, and content to Lens Chain—the largest onchain migration ever.

In collaboration with @zksync , the Lens team developed a migration solution that does not require user intervention and preserves maximum data integrity.

Migrating data between blockchains at this scale was unprecedented.

Existing tools fell short, so we built an adaptable migration framework that can potentially support other projects moving to Lens Chain.

The main challenge was handling 125GB of storage logs at chain genesis, prompting @the_matter_labs to boost node capabilities.

This led to a proposal to add Lens Chain to the @zksync Elastic Network.

The migration successfully transferred 125GB of smart contract storage logs, including:

- 650,000 user accounts and their digital identities

- 650,000 unique usernames

- 28 million follower connections preserving the social graph

- 360 applications ensuring ecosystem continuity

- 16 million posts with user-generated content

The Lens team, in collaboration with @heydotxyz , @orb_club , @tapexyz , and @soclyhq, built a migration framework so they'll be fully operational on Lens Chain from day one.

This coordinated effort will give Lens Chain users immediate access to V3's features.

The successful Lens V2 on Polygon to Lens V3 on Lens Chain migration process represents a milestone for the blockchain industry.

Upon mainnet launch, Lens users can effortlessly use apps, interact with content, and manage accounts on the new Lens Chain.

The proposal to include Lens Chain in @zksync ’s Elastic Network has now been published.

When Lens Chain launches, all existing user data will be automatically deployed at genesis.

This unprecedented, fully automated migration requires approval through @zksync ’s governance process.
