A repository on GitHub that contains data that has been scraped from the friend.tech platform has been made public by Banteg, a key contributor to Yearn Finance. Important user details like their Base wallet addresses and corresponding Twitter usernames are included in the file. This collection includes information on more than 101,000 users. Banteg's admission was made public along with the release of a CSV file containing extensive user information.
Friend.tech is a web3 social application that enables trading shares in influencer accounts and runs on the Layer 2 chain Base, which was incubated by Coinbase. Shareholders get exclusive access to exclusive chat rooms. The platform has drawn notice thanks to prominent signups of Crypto Twitter personalities. So far, total protocol revenue is almost $3 million, according to data from Dune, since launching 12 days ago.

Banteg has expressed worries regarding the permissions offered to friend.tech in addition to simply sharing this repository. He made the point that these people might have unintentionally permitted friend.tech to publish on their behalf without their knowledge or approval.

However, according to Friend.tech, the data is from their public API, hence it is akin to someone “looking at your public Twitter feed” rather than being leaked. The project said the data just demonstrates the relationship between public wallet addresses and public Twitter identities.
