Sam Bankman-Fried has claimed there was a security incident outside his parent's property, where he is under house arrest on a $250 million bond.
News of the breach emerged as media outlets push for a court to reveal the identities of two anonymous co-signers who have committed their wealth to securing the bond.
In a letter written to Judge Lewis Kaplan, who will oversee SBF's criminal trial in October, SBF's legal team said a black car drove into metal barricades erected outside the Palo Alto house.
"Three men got out of the car. When the security guard on duty confronted them, the men said something to the effect of: 'You won't be able to keep us out.' The men got back in the car and quickly drove away before the security guard was able to see the license plate."
SBF's legal team have previously warned that his parents, Barbara Fried and Joseph Bankman, have "received a steady stream of threatening correspondence, including communications expressing a desire that they suffer physical harm."
And there have been fears that if the two anonymous co-signers were identified, they too could face threats and harassment — and could potentially back out of the $250 million bond.
Bankman-Fried currently has to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet and receive mental health care as well as substance abuse treatment. He is only allowed to leave the property if he has a court appearance.
But as we've seen this week, his bail conditions haven't stopped him from writing repeated blog posts where he questions the narrative put forward by FTX's new management.
