Tabla de contenidos

Plant vs Undead is a blockchain-based defense game making waves in parts of South America. The game’s rise to popularity is mostly driven by the booming NFT sector. NFTs have enabled individuals, as well as institutions, to garner tens of millions of dollars in a short run.
However, instead of following the NFT games trend where new collectibles are revealed every once in a while, Plant vs Undead banks on the success of the Plants vs Zombies franchise which was one of the world’s most popular and recognizable video game franchises in the world of smartphone gaming.

According to the Plant vs Undead whitepaper, the game aims to combine the phenomenal features of the successful Plants vs Zombies game with NFTs built on blockchain technology.

What Is Plant vs Undead (PVU)?

Plant vs Undead (PVU) is a multiplayer blockchain-based game set in a world called Planet Plants. In what was once a harmonious place for animals and plants, zombies from a meteor originating from outer space invaded the land and each player has a mother tree that they need to protect for the survival of their planet while using eight plants to attack the undead.
The exciting and scary battle between the plants and the zombies can be played on any device and with multiple rounds of attack in every game, a player can arrange the plants to deploy unique strategies to achieve the best outcome.
Players can also grow seeds into special plants incorporating those with special inherent traits that make them better fighters and soldiers against the invading army of the Undead. Seeds in the Plant vs Undead universe can grow into any plant ranging from common plants with common features to rare ones with special attack features.

How Does It Work?

As mentioned earlier, the game works through several rounds of playtime. With each round, the player is given a chance to play with one mother tree and eight unique plants.

Players, therefore, need to position their plants strategically to increase their power to fight against the undead.

Players who successfully kill the undead receive rewards in the form of energy points that can be used to upgrade or reposition their plants.

What Is the PVU token and How to Earn It?

PVU is the native currency of the Plant vs Undead game. The token facilitates the play-to-earn aspect of the game, where players can earn PVU tokens by winning battles and events in the game. Each game mode comes with a specified PVU reward, and everyone can participate in all game modes. What’s more is the waves of the undead, once destroyed, produce different PVU rewards.

Plant vs Undead (PVU) Tokenomics

The tokens can also be used to buy in-game items such as seeds and plants. Built on Binance Smart Chain, PVU tokens come with a maximum supply of 300 million. Out of the total supply, 60 million tokens have been allocated for a public sale that is set to take place in three phases. The private sale already took place on July 3, 2021.
30 million tokens will go to the community for marketing purposes while 60 million tokens are reserved for staking rewards and another 60 million set for further development of the game.

The team of advisors will receive 60 million tokens that are currently locked and will be distributed over 25 months at a rate of 5% each month. This design is set to encourage long-term commitment to the platform's goal.

Lastly, to incentivize the participation of players, 30 million tokens have been set aside for rewards for winning competitions in the game.

While the NFT marketplace is flooded with pet-oriented NFT games, PVU takes on a new concept that has already attracted a large and growing fanbase.
