Big macs, fries, sundaes and McNuggets are all getting immortalized on the blockchain.
We’ve had tokenized tacos and toilet rolls turned into NFTs — and now, it appears that McDonald’s is getting in on the act.
The French arm of the fast food giant says it is creating its own range of digital art, inspired by some of the chain’s best-known dishes.
A Big Mac is one of the items from the menu that is being immortalized on the blockchain, alongside a box of Chicken McNuggets. For those who aren’t all that fond of meet, sunades and fries are available instead.
Five versions of each digital artwork are being created.
Whereas many other companies have opted to auction off their NFTs and donate the proceeds to charity, McDonald’s appears to be taking a different approach. Instead, it’s going to hold a contest on social media.
McDonald’s France says that it is hoping to introduce NFTs to those who may not be all that technologically savvy — and the lucky recipients of each token will receive a physical frame that replicates the art they own in the real world.
Paris Hilton ‘Excited’ about NFTs
In other news, Paris Hilton has expressed her enthusiasm for NFTs in an impassioned blog post — declaring that she believes these tokens are “the future of the creator economy.” She added:
“I plan to go big with NFTs, innovating, investing and collecting. My first drop is coming soon. I can’t wait.”
