Solana is winning—its price is trending higher while its DeFi TVL increased 50% in a month.

Market Overview

Thanks to a breakthrough in global trade war negotiations, as the U.S. and China agreed to a 90-day tariff pause, the top 10 non-stablecoin assets went full send. Bitcoin ripped through the $100K level again, sending altcoins on a moon mission again. Ethereum stole the show this week, though, as it jumped 36%, fueled by the Pectra Upgrade that went live on May 7.
Solana's meme coins were supercharged as the majors printed green candles, with Moo Deng (MOODENG) gaining 500% in just days. The Solana ecosystem blossomed, adding 21% to its market cap while the trading volume rocketed 175%.

With capital flowing back into Solana's ecosystem, are we back? Or maybe we never left!

Solana's Performance

Solana jumped a solid 19% this week and is approaching $200 after dropping to double digits last month. The layer-1 network is gaining institutional appeal, with the publicly traded DeFi Development Corp.—the Strategy of Solana—buying 172,670 SOL worth $23.6 million to take its total holdings to over $100 million. Its stock rose 20%.

L1 Ranking Update

Ethereum, still king of the hill, posted a 17% boost in total value locked (TVL). Solana clocked in a 14% TVL jump, bringing it close to $11 billion locked.
While competitors like Tron enjoyed a bigger rise, Solana maintains its second place in TVL rankings, with BNB Chain coming in a distant third.

DEX volume on Solana jumped 26% week-over-week, hitting a massive $24.4 billion. The number of daily active addresses is up 3% to 3.9 million amid the building meme coin mania.

And Solana’s DApps generated more revenue than those on competing blockchains.

Biggest Losers

Even in a week where Solana’s ecosystem was printing gains like it’s bull season, not every project got the memo.

Solayer (LAYER) stood out—but for the wrong reasons—logging its second straight week in the red.
