The Solana-based meme coin Church of the Smoking Chicken Fish (SCF) is taking a leap from digital memes to real-world impact. The project's founder, known as Pastor Kelby, has officially registered SCF as a nonprofit organization and is now setting his sights on constructing a physical church in Marfa, Texas.
Pastor Kelby said, "We're going to try to build a church in Marfa, Texas. We've already found potential property and our whales have already donated over $130,000 towards the purchase of that property."

What started as a quirky meme coin has evolved into a platform for spreading life lessons and self-help teachings. Pastor Kelby hosts daily sermons on Twitter Spaces, attracting hundreds of listeners as he reads from influential books. "While we sit here being blessed with social influence, the greatest thing I could do would be to disseminate positive, educative things," Pastor Kelby explained. He views the project as an opportunity to share the wisdom that has shaped his own life, describing it as "like a meme book club" with the potential to change lives.

The church has also developed its own set of principles, humorously dubbed the "chickenmandments." These include playful rules like "Thou shalt work for your bags" and "Thou shalt only smoke Marlboro Reds," a nod to the cigarette smoked by the church's fictional deity, "Lord Fishnu."

Despite the humorous facade, Pastor Kelby insists that the project has deeper intentions to "help humanity." The planned physical church in Texas is envisioned as a gathering place for followers and a venue for motivational speakers. This development comes on the heels of SCF's meteoric rise to a $130 million market cap, achieved in less than two weeks after its launch on Pump.fun. SCF has since declined to a market cap of around $37 million, amidst a wider market downturn.
