Dfinity Foundation Unveils Web3 Acceleration Platform Leveraging Internet Computer
Switzerland-based Dfinity Foundation has announced the launch of its Olympus Acceleration Platform. In a press release, the foundation described Olympus as the world's first decentralized, on-chain Web3 accelerator, offering a unique platform for teams worldwide to organize and launch their own accelerator programs. Dfinity emphasizes that Olympus stands apart from similar accelerator programs due to its innovative "Open Stake" model. This model enables projects, mentors, and investors to interact freely, fostering a permissionless ecosystem that promotes inclusivity and allows for unlimited integrations.

Dominic Williams, founder and chief scientist of the Dfinity Foundation, expressed the significance of the platform, stating, "Traditional accelerator programs are permissioned and operate as silos, many are also not sustainable and rely on grants. Olympus is a new model, that's why I am especially excited to get involved as a mentor and share my experience with the next generation of founders."

Olympus leverages the Internet Computer Protocol's infrastructure, which is a decentralized computing platform that enables hosting software directly on the internet using blockchain technology. The platform introduces a "trustless perpetual loop" feature, allowing for on-chain verification of key project growth metrics. This transparency ensures the integrity of the metrics within the Web3 ecosystem.

The development of Olympus received support from Web3Labs, a blockchain accelerator based in Hong Kong, and garnered mentorship and assistance from prominent investors and partners at VC funds such as Fenbushi Capital, Fundamental Labs, Softbank Vision Fund, NewTribe Capital, Cypher Capital, Bitcoin Frontier Fund, Summer Ventures and more.
